1. Download and Install Oracle Jinitiator
Click on the download link below and save the file named jinit.exe to your filesystem.
When the download finishes you can install Oracle JInitiator by locating the file using the Windows Explorer and double-clicking on it to start the installation process.
Accept the default choices unless you have specific reasons not to.
Note: If Internet Explorer crashes while bringing up Jinitiator, most likely JInitiator is conflicting with one or more add-ons installed in your browser, like Google Toolbar, Yahoo Search, Windows Messenger, AOL toolbar.
2. Download and Install SSL certificates
After you have installed Jinitiator, you need to load our Web server's security certificates in Jinitiator.
These certificates allow the applets running on your PCs and our web servers to establish secure and encrypted connections.
Attention: Without the security certificates, you WILL NOT be able to connect to our web servers!
To facilitate this step, we provide you with a small utility that will automatically perform all necessary steps.
Once you have saved the file named install_certdb.exe on your PC (for example, on your Desktop), double click on it and just confirm the default settings. After this step, you should be able to access our applications
If at any point you'd to go back to Jinitiator's previous security settings, go in the folder where you have installed Jinitiator (by default, C:\Program Files\Oracle\Jinitiator 1.3.1.22) and in the folder lib\security you'll find the uninstall_certdb.exe utility.
Double-click on it, and the original settings will be restored.
3. Replace jvm.dll file
The default jvm.dll file that downloads with jinitiator will crash when add-ons such as Yahoo toolbar and/or Google toolbar are installed on your browser. To prevent this crash from happening, replace the default jvm.dll file with this jvm.dll file. File jvm.dll is location at C:\Program Files\Oracle\Jinitiator 1.3.1.22\bin\Hotspot\.
4. Restart your Web Browser
Close and then open your web browser so that these changes can take effect.
